History
Daira Mir Momin,also called Daira-i-Mir Momin, is a Muslim cemetery located in the Old City of Hyderabad
Daira Mir Momin, a nearly four-century-year-old graveyard located in the Sultan Shahi area of the Old city presents a picture of official apathy. Several important personalities including Mir Momin Astarabadi, who had contributed extensively to the foundation of Hyderabad, are laid to rest here. The history of the graveyard is that Mir Momin Astarabadi, had brought camel loads of soil from Karbala, the holy city of Iran, in the 16th century and got it laid at the graveyard. Hence, it is one of the important graveyards of the Muslim community in the city.
Amongst those laid to rest here is Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahab, the exponent of Hindustani classical music, in order to pay tributes to the renowned vocalist, ahead of his death anniversary, The Padma Bhushan Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Saheb, authorities have taken up restoration work of his grave tomb at Daira-e-Mir Momin in Sultan Shahi.

Restoration
• Polishing of marble stone on the grave and floor area
• Removed rusted iron grill, replaced with GRC Jaali on three sides
• Casted inside dome in GRC and installed to add décor
• Casted and installed rails around the dome from outside to add aesthetics
• Casted and installed Asif Jahi style flowers to add aesthetics
• Waterproofed roof top area with drain
• Replaced old, rusted Iron gate with heritage design matching
• Illumination inside and around the tomb
